Our Attorneys

Lir joined McCabe, Trotter & Beverly, P.C. in 2025, where he concentrates his practice on litigation and transactional matters for community associations and condominiums. Immediately prior to joining McCabe, Trotter & Beverly, P.C., Lir owned his own practice, Derieg Law Firm, LLC, where he focused on criminal defense and construction litigation. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, working in the Columbia office before running the Camden office.

Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Lir came to South Carolina as a scholarship swimmer for the University of South Carolina, where he was elected captain of the men’s swimming and diving team in 2004. He served as President of the South Carolina Student Athletic Advisory Council and was twice the USC student-athlete representative to the SEC Conference meetings.

In his free time, Lir enjoys spending time with his daughter and mother. He is also an avid sports and comedy fan, frequently attending live events and shows.
